I was not informed that Regions will de-activate your debit card if you are "over drafted".Even if your check is direct deposited you have to go in and request a new debit/atm card.

I don't have time to do that, that is what direct deposit is for not to go out of my way to request a new card if I happen to go over.In the process of looking for another bank now.I have called bank twice and have actually pleaded with them not to cx but they would not budge, that is shameful.

Had an Experience with Regions Bank?

Not sure what you mean in the title of your post when you say "opted in overdraft".If you have a sufficient overdraft line of credit with Regions (not automatic, you have to set it up) they will not cancel your debit card.

On the other hand, if you go over your overdraft line of credit, it's pretty much like writing a bad check.

I can see why they would cancel your debit card.Nothing shameful about that.
