Opened a Regions Account

I opened an checking/savings account online, afterwards I was told to go in and show my ID and proof of residence, which I did on that saturday. showed my id, proof of residence, signed signature paper, got my direct deposit, got my account information. chatted a bit with the person that helped me set-up my account. made my deposit and left. I later got my cards, check book, my banking was great. I get my first direct deposit, go to lunch and cant pay because they put a hold on my account because the banking rep told them I never came in to show my ID, OR GIVE PROOF OF RESIDENCY!!!!!! NOW HOW WOULD I HAVE THIS ACCOUNT SET-UP IF IN FACT I HAD NOT COME IN!!! I TRIED TO WITHDRAW MY MONEY THEY TOLD ME 10 DAY HOLD BEFORE I COULD TAKE MY MONEY OUT!!!! THIS REP IS SO UNPROFESSIONAL WHEN I CALLED HER SHE SAID TAKE YOUR MONEY OUT I DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH AN IRRIATE CUSTOMER!!!! SHE IS SO UNPROFESSIONAL AND A LIAR!!!

I am going thru the same thing except I opened my account online on a Friday then went in on the following Monday to deposit money and get my acct going. I showed my id which has my current address and signed deposit slip.

Everything went well until three days later I received my check card & a letter stating I need to verify my residency... Huh now I'm confused so after successfully activating my ATM card I go into the bank with my proof of residency. They copy my utility bill and my id and stated give it 25-48 hours to process. I was also told that my acct is on complete hold not even a teller could give me any of my money while at the bank...ugh!!

It has been over 3 days now and customer service is clueless about why my acct is still on hold they found out that the proof I provided was not sent to the right dept properly. Apparently if my account is not verified with 10 days of requesting proof of residency they will close the account & disperse my funds back to me.

I am not happy with this bank may have to go elsewhere because this is ridiculous really!!! :( :(

Poor Customer service

I am a Regions Visa holder. I spent 2 hours on the telephone trying to get a simple problem solved. I was bounced around from department to department, cut off and ignored. I followed their automated menu and the phone rang 25 times before someone picked up. This is a Mickey Mouse outfit that needs some serious reorganization. After being told that supervisor was coming to the phone, I was left holding for 15 minutes. I finally gave up which is probably what he or she was hoping. The last person I sp[oke to could not give me the name of the CEO of the organization so I will have research and finally write a scathing letter to someone with some authority.

Regions bank will take your money on overdrafts even if you have the money in your account they will save up enough charges until you are over and say they where pending so they can charge you a bunch I will never use this bank again and I have been with them for over thirty years they suck

ATMS never work on weekends

8/4/13... this is the 2nd weekend in a row that the atms arent working in shreveport, la. last weekend i was shopping online and at checkout my transaction was denied (i had plenty money to cover the charges), then i wasnt able to open the app on my iphone or view my account on the website. called regions 1-800 # and was told there were system issues and nothing could be done about it. i do not like carrying cash and i would like to make a deposit but instead i think i might just close my account..... too many inconveniences

Big Bank Steals Blue Collar Money

I recently set up a savings account with Regions Bank, The Account Manager said she was going to set up my auto withdrawal on my payday (1st like just about 99% of America) well the 10 dollar withdraw happened on the 31st instead my wife and just had a baby so money really tight and I had a whole $1.30 in my checking account... So I went in the negative then was charged a $36 dollar fee for over draft! I go to the Altamonte Springs Fl location and explained to them I didn't make a purchase a mistake was made when I wanted the money to draft out, the young man was a complete ***, he acted like me talking to him was a inconvenience for him and he was way to good to be helping me... I know its just 36 bucks, but what happened is unfair... I also know that life is unfair, but only because people won't stand up for themselves. I'm closing my account with this bank, and I wouldn't suggest anyone to do business with them. Shady business is not what this country (that I went to Iraq and Afghanistan for) was built on, and if we as consumers (that really run the economy) put up with getting our money taken from us, then we are the real fools.

The account manager should have payed more attention, and this all could have been avoided... But if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.

If Regions offers online banking, get it. Keep up with everything on there. Know what is in what account, and make sure you will be on overdraft protection.

Good luck getting the fee waived with large companies like that... Very few large companies like that even care about customer satisfaction anymore.

I was lied to by regions bank in alabaster al

Well I went in and put in for a loan. And was told It was approved and I had to put 50 Into account so the funds would be available. This was on July 10th when I went in to apply. The guy there named Nick kept telling me it was approved every time I called in to check. So the next week they needed more information, from my job which I got and turned in. And again Nick told me this is all that will be needed and your funds will be available. So still the SAME lie your approved. So I called back and talked to VAN in the alabaster office same thing so July 30th I called back only for them to tell me that Nick UNPROFESSIONAL SELF WAS ON VACATION. AND VAN SAID I WOULD NEED A CO SIGNER. BUT THIS WAS VERY UNSATISFACTORY, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, AND NICK DON'T KNOW WHAT THE *** HE IS DOING. Regions bank does not operate within the state laws and guidelines. They make up their own laws and requirements without providing anything in writing to do so. They are liars, cheats, and thieves as I see it. Many people have complained about their fees and how they charge them, and all are totally right in their assessment of the company. Regions Nearly got me Arrested

I was out eating dinner when I received an email on my phone that my debit card, to which my paychecks are deposited to, was being blocked for vague reasons. It was with this card that I had planned to pay for my dinner. The number which was given to me to call at my earliest convenience, repeatedly hung up on me as I called it from the restaurant. Being unable to pay for my meal, the restaurant threatened to call the local police. Luckily I recalled some cash being in the glove compartment of my truck. After being escorted to my truck by security, I was able to pay my bill. I will close both of my Regions accounts as soon as possible

Refusal to view my Online Statement.

Thru a SECURITY reason or an error Regions back refuses by all their codes, sorry call back later, or the information you have given is wrong. This has been an ongoing problem for a few years, really didn't want to close the account, in a rural area for travel convenience, and just a great bunch at the branch. Yes they haven't been able to resolve either. YOU CANNOT SPEAK to a HUMAN thru any of their 1-800 numbers, no do they have an eMail address for resolution. I do not twitter, facebook, or any other social media way of contact. It's really that they have shut out all resolution paths in this case. YEP, CLOSE the Account and get in touch with Social Security to cancel electronic tranfer first. August 10 drop dead day in my book. This is posted for anyone that can supply me with an eMail addy for resolving!

Regions bank wanted to charge me $2.00

My daughter has a checking account with Regions Bank. I am new to this area, my bank is 2 hours away. I took her check that was wrote to me to a local Regions bank. The teller informed me that there would be a $2.00 fee because I did not have an account with them, AND wanted my thumb print! The check was wrote on a Regions bank account, does it cost $2.00 for the teller to stamp the back of the check, reach into her cash drawer and pull out the money? I think not! There were no posting inside the bank so that I could be expecting this fee. The bank I usually bank with, 2 hours away, only charged to cash Government check and such for non customers. I will not be doing any business with Regions Bank. There are numerous other banks locally and when I recounted my visit to Regions Bank, they were flabbergasted also!

in 2010 I deposited $300 into my nephew's account. Barry Nord 570515****. He passed away on September 20, 2010 and never withdrew the money. The account has been charged each month for inactivity. What happens when there is no money left? Why cant you just donate the money to a charity. I dont need the money, so just let me know what happens when there is no more money to withdraw from his inactive account. I went to the Regions band in North Miami Beach and I showed them all the papers and they told me go to to court. That will cost alot of money and its not worth it. Can you HELP?????

They don't have a right to do ANYTHING to his account. Only his estate or those legally allowed to speak for him can do so. Don't blame the bank for not breaking the law, come at them the legal way.
