I went into Region's to cash a check that was drawn on their bank. Because I didn't have an account with them they charged me a 1 percent fee to cash the check that was drawn on Regions. This review is in regard to dealings with Regions Bank branch 3720 Norman Bridge Rd. Montgomery AL. Manager Ora Buskey in 2016. Dec, 2015 I had a mortgage with Regions Mortgage. My husband and I went to the local branch to open a checking account w/ Regions Bank on Dec. 30, 2015 based on a promotion they were offering of a $200.00 bonus to be deposited to our account after 120 days. Do your self a favor and avoid this institution. They have poor customer support, long holding periods and lack service. Bad customer service. No follow-up on company offers. Complete disregard for an existing customer with a positive history. Complete disregard for any response you may have to what is obviously is a system designed not to address the customers specific questions. Lack of back office interest for their existing clients. Piece of *** bank. Applied twice for a credit card and never heard anything back whether I was approved or denied. I was completely ignored. Their overdraft protection is the shittiest piece of *** scam I have ever seen. I have over 100x the amount that was charged to my checking, in my savings; yet, almost instantly, they apply a $36 overdraft fee. I have ordered a new check card at Regions, insisting it would be mailed at the branch in Boynton beach, NOT at my home address, since there were issues with my mailbox . A year ago I had made the same request and the card was mailed against my wish at my house where it fell in somebody else's hands. Charging $36.00 for a $2.65 overdraft is the same as price gouging. When speaking to the banker, just told they changed their policy - in my reasoning just to get more $$$. Their first core value is - Do the Right Thing - this policy is the opposite of their main core value. I can not get over being charged $36 for making a two cent mistake. When I ask about getting this most unfair fee refunded I was given a general form type reply explaining the banks policies so I ask again since this was only two pennies and the bank employee said nothing could be done and then referred to another instance of this happening last year. Regions suddenly without warning sent me a letter stating they were closing my account. I was awaiting my refund direct deposit from the IRS. They agreed to keep account open until the deposit. Day of deposit they said they can't release funds yet. Now i am without access to my account and they have over $4500 of my money. Add comment
